At The Curated Crab, we believe…

We believe shopping should be an experience not just the act of buying. We thrive on possibilities and deeply value the power of imagination. Each day, we aim to be fully present, whether it’s savoring the quiet ritual of a morning coffee or watching champagne bubbles rise with delicate purpose.

We believe in living with intention—in how we speak, how we connect, and how we spend time in solitude. We value openness in the sharing of thoughts and feelings and especially toward those who are different from us.  We learn that growth comes through contrast and so does meaning.

We find beauty in imperfection and trust joy when she runs by. We celebrate style, even when it’s not our own. While life can be heavy and often sad, we still believe it is undeniably beautiful—and far more magical when you add whimsy and art to the everyday.

It is easy to get lost in the noise of worry or disappointment, so why not dress like you’re meeting your favorite person—or your hero? That favorite person might just be you.

At The Curated Crab we try hard to live by design and not by default.  And that, we have found, changes everything.

Meet Heather Bass

The Curated Crab Owner

I am often asked what I “do.”  Since I am a psychotherapist in private practice,  I own a retail boutique, and I work as an interior design stylist, it is hard to decide which version of myself to relate.  So, I have decided that what I really do is create space for people.  I invite people into my therapeutic space to make room for their process.  I own a shop that gives people an interesting place to find something new.  And I also go into people’s homes to decorate, style, and re-arrange to reflect a space personal to them.

As for gratitude and its place in our lives, I am deeply thankful for the talented, supportive, generous husband I have who not only challenges me, but offers me a life that is full of creativity and possibility. I have a strong, loving mother who instructs me to keep spreading my wings and wholeheartedly celebrates me when I do. Then there are my clients who entrust me with their most sacred places. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about my good fortune with the smart, kind, witty, and lovely women who work along side of me at The Curated Crab.

We can choose to live our lives thoughtfully. We can choose to be inspired by nature, by style, by grace and we can believe that looking good along the way is all part of the fun.
